Exercising is an essential activity to maintain physical health and wellness. However, many people tend to avoid it for different reasons. The excuses may include a busy lifestyle, tiredness, pain, etc. But in the long run, exercise helps avoid various health problems and associated risks. Therefore, you must motivate yourself to exercise, make a plan, and follow it for your ultimate benefit!

Here are some tips that’ll motivate you to start exercising and stick with it.

1. Start With Small Steps

When setting up a routine, start with easy and smaller exercises. You can also start exercising in shorter periods of 5-10 minutes in the beginning. Do not try to do complex or high-intensity workouts in the beginning. In addition, do not think that you can work out for an hour on your first day. Your body will ultimately get used to the new routine; hence, you must start small.

2. Enjoy Your Workout

Workout does not need to be strenuous or painful. You can pick up your favorite sport or activity as your exercise regime. Moreover, try adding fun elements to your workout session. For example, you can listen to your favorite songs while exercising.

Furthermore, you can include a variety of exercises in your routine, so you do not have to repeat the same exercises every day. You can try yoga one day and Zumba the next day. However, ensure you make a plan and stick to it. You must include those exercise forms in sync with your fitness goals.

3. Reward Yourself

Remember to set measurable goals and reward yourself whenever you achieve them. It will act as a motivation for you to complete your goals. For example, you can reward yourself with your favorite dessert after completing the goals of continuously exercising for five days. Similarly, you can set different goals and rewards according to your plan. The reward does not need to be materialistic. Reward yourself with a five minutes break on completing a set of exercises. Even these rewards will help you in sticking to your exercise goals.

4. Include Exercise in Your Daily Routine

Do not associate exercises with gym and high-intensity workouts. Make it a part of your lifestyle. For example, you can ditch the lift and start taking stairs. Instead of taking your vehicle every time you go out, opt for walks for nearby places. Indulge in such physical activities if you have a hectic lifestyle and find setting an hour aside for exercise challenging. The more you make it a part of your life, the more you will enjoy it.

5. Include Your Social Circle

You can also include your friends, siblings, or colleagues in your exercise plan. It is proven to be effective to have an exercise buddy. The person will keep you motivated and help you stick to your exercise routine. Also, it will be fun to have a companion while exercising. You will spend more time with them, which can motivate you to get up and exercise every day.

7. Keep a Tab on Your Results

This is another motivational factor for exercising. You must make a record or journal of your results from exercising. For instance, if you are exercising to lose weight, you must record your weight frequently. When you see that you are getting the desired results, you will stick to your exercise plan. It will motivate you to work harder and enjoy the journey.

However, once you achieve your goals, do not quit exercising. You must always make it a part of your life to maintain your fitness levels.

8. Avoid Comparing With Others

Do not compare yourself with anyone! When you look at others, inspire yourself from their journey but do not become a self-critic. Each person will enjoy different results. If one person manages to lose 3kgs in a month, it does not necessarily mean that you will too! The amount of weight you lose or gain depends on various factors of your body. Also, avoid copying anyone as we all have different body types and goals. Consult with an expert to devise your fitness plan. The expert will help you choose exercises that suit your body type. Trust yourself and stick to your fitness plan. You will achieve your goals with hard work and patience.

Exercising is beneficial and must be included as a part of life. While exercising may seem difficult initially, you will start enjoying it once you start getting results. However, avoid overworking yourself to gain results early. Give time to your body and enjoy the process. Keep motivating yourself to exercise to live a healthy and happy life!
